Brightmont Academy Expands Its Georgia Presence with New Atlanta Campus

Atlanta, GA—According to the Georgia Department of Education, nearly a quarter of Georgia’s students miss 18 or more days of school each year, significantly impacting their academic performance. Brightmont Academy has successfully helped students overcome these challenges through its individualized approach and is now expanding its presence in Georgia with a new Atlanta campus set to open on November 14th.


Aisha Walker, Vice President of School Development at Brightmont, highlights the institution’s growth and commitment to Georgia’s students. “Brightmont Academy in Georgia has been growing, and it is exciting to see students come into the Alpharetta campus and feel like they belong in their educational atmosphere. Our campus has been growing so much that leadership has decided to add a campus in Smyrna across town where we can continue to serve this area with one-to-one schooling,” said Walker.


This expansion follows the success of Brightmont’s Alpharetta campus and a recent summer program in Sandy Springs. Walker shared, “Over the past 6-8 months, we have seen tremendous growth at our Alpharetta Campus and increased interest in other parts of the city. This summer, we had the opportunity to bring Brightmont to the Sandy Springs area and work 1:1 with students for 8 weeks. Parents were thrilled that we were able to accommodate the needs of their child without a commute.”


The new Atlanta location will offer Brightmont’s signature one-to-one instruction, personalized learning plans, and a nurturing environment for students. “We have several students at our Alpharetta Campus that are eagerly anticipating the November opening of our Atlanta location,” Walker noted. “They are excited to remove the 50-75 minute drive from their daily routine. Same great 1:1 teaching and personalized instruction, same great Brightmont, just a lot less driving!”


Brightmont Academy is located at 1161 Concord Rd SE in Smyrna and is currently accepting enrollments. Families and professionals are invited to attend a grand opening event on November 14th, 2024, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The event includes a tour of the campus and a meeting with Aisha Walker to learn more about the value of one-to-one instruction. Ribbon Cutting is at 10 AM with the Chamber of Commerce.

And under all of it— 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲. Fierce, protective love. But that love is also 𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻.  Neurodiversity can be 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 . It can bring out 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵, 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 . But for many families, it also brings 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁 .

The School Embraces Neurodiversity When choosing the right school the curriculum offered at the school must support students' needs. Some parents consider the use of adaptive digital platforms that support the needs of students who struggle with material management. Parents hope for Instruction from experts trained in adaptive curriculum and subjects so that they are prepared to adjust on the fly. Parents need to feel confident their child’s unique learning style will be supported and nurtured. Sensory Friendly Distraction-Reduced Spaces and Quiet Areas Small classrooms with a small teacher-to-student ratio allows for distraction-reduced spaces and quiet areas. Reducing distractions and disruptions from others allows the student in the smaller classroom to focus. In the 2020 research published in Science Direct students shared their experience about why they tended to gravitate towards the library in a traditional school. “The separate, more contained and manageable nature of the space is highlighted, as well as the more relaxed furnishings and homelike decor. The ‘quietness’ of the space is related to libraries typically being quiet places, but also…due to the presence of soft furnishings, carpets and books acting to dampen the sound. [Students} discuss the library as a social space, where they can ‘chat with friends’, in a more conducive environment than an invasive corridor or clattering classroom.” Focus and engagement are two important components to student success. When students feel at ease and successful they feel motivated to come back to school day after day and quench their curiosity in their academic subjects.
